Services

We are professional groomers. Providing your dog is not matted we can clip and style your dog to any length and style that you like including breed specific styles.

Communication is key when describing what you would like your dog to look like. Be as specific as possible and/or bring in a picture if you like. The more descriptions and instructions you can give us, the better we can groom to your expectations.

Some longer length styles or breed specific styles may have additional costs depending on the time it takes. We generally work on approx $1 per minute. Therefore if it takes us 15 minutes longer than a standard groom, then it will cost $15 more than the base price.

Puppy Introduction and/or Touch-Up

This is perfect for babies first introduction to the salon.

It is super important to introduce your baby to grooming as soon as possible.

We recommend as soon as they are fully vaccinated.

The more familiar your baby is with the grooming process the easier and more ejoyable it will be for you, him/her and the groomer later in life.

We love and want all our dogs to happy when bounding through our doors. Obviously, this is not always possible. We will work with you on any emotional, behavioral or anxiety issues your pup may show. Working together with you is essential. We may give you some simple tips and strategies you can do at home, these will help to de-sensitise your baby with the hope to a future of enjoyable stress free grooming.

This appointment takes approximately 20 to 30 minutes.

During puppies first visits we like to make a big deal. We will kiss, cuddle, play and love them. We will do our best to make it a fun, loving and stress free.

During this time they will experience all the sounds of the salon, eg, dryers, clippers etc. We will clip their nails, hygiene clip the pads and groin, and trim around eyes and feet if required. We will give you a verbal report of your babies behavior in the salon, plus tips and advice on how to improve his/her future experiences with grooming.

NOTE: A bath is not included with this service.

Breed Specific Styling

This is generally for people who are showing their dog competitively.  Each breed has their own specialty trim with their own set of rules for the show ring.

Some pet owners also like to keep their pet in a show trim or modified show trim.

There is generally alot of hand scissoring involved with breed specific styles. This can take alot longer than a regular groom.

Please book a Deluxe Groom for this service.

Scissored Longer Length on body and/or Legs

A length longer than 1.5cm on the body or legs.

Most teddy styles require a longer length. Some have a longer length all over, others have shorter on the main body (back and belly) with a longer length on the legs.

To achieve this we need to brush and comb your pooch thoroughly all over leaving no knots or tangles. Depending on the length you require, we can use a clip on guide comb that clips onto our clippers. This glides through the coat clipping it to your desired length. the guide combs do not leave a smooth finish like the shorter blades do, they simply give us a guide to the length you require and then we hand scissor all over to get a smooth finish at your desired length.

This takes alot longer than a full body clip because of the work involved with brushing and the time it takes to hand scissor.

Please book a Deluxe Groom for this service.

Full Body Clip

This is a length of 1.5cm or shorter on the body and legs. Most people leave a scissored finish head, face, ears and tail.

Belly Clip

A belly clip is offered with a "Bath & Tidy". This is when we clip the belly at a length of 1.5cm or shorter.

This is great for long coated dogs.

From a standing position you cannot see that the belly has been clipped.

It helps keep the belly clean, cool in summer, knot free and helps to avoid grass seeds, water or mud.

Scissor Finish of Head, Tail & Feet

Generally we do not clip a dogs head, ears or tail unless requested.

After clipping or scissoring the body and legs to the desired length, we hand scissor the dogs head, face, ears and tail into the style you request.

Some people like big square beards and long ears, some like short rounded faces with rounded ears. Long flag tails, pom pom tails, short feathered tails.

Some go all out with a mullet or mohawk.

It is completely up to you.

We also scissor the feet to get a smooth neat finnish.

Hygiene Clip (Pads & Groin)

We us a number 10 blade to clip around genital areas, pads of the feet and armpits.

Clipping these areas can help keep your dog clean and free from any knots and tangles in those sensitive hard to get to places.

Some dogs can get what we call "Clipper Rash" in those sensitive areas. Clipper rash is exactly that, a rash that can cause irritation to your pet for a day or two after being groomed. This is NOT common, but it can happen. We are very aware of dogs with sensitive or pale skin that can be more prone to clipper rash. In these cases we set our clippers to a longer length in those areas to avoid this.

Please let us know if your dog has had issues with clipper rash in the past.

Full Body Brush & Comb

We thoroughly brush your pooch all over using a range of different brushes depending on coat type and condition. We then comb through the coat all over to be sure there are no remaining knots or tangles.

In some cases we can attempt to de-matt your matted dog.

Some matting in the ears and tail for example can often be gently removed.

This may have an additional cost depending on the time it takes.

However, if your dog is matted all over or is extra sensitive to brushing then this can be stressful and/or painful to your dog. We will assess every dog individually. If we believe it is going to cause pain then we will we will choose the kindest option and have to shave underneath the matts. This may leave your dog with alot shorter coat than you were hoping for. But rest assured it will grow back quickly and it was the kindest option for your pooch at the time.

De-Shed & Undercoat Removal

We offer a complete de-shed to all dogs that shed and/or have a double coat.

This can be a timely process.

We achieve this by hydrobathing and hand scrubbing with a specially formulated de-shedding shampoo and conditioner.

The high velocity dryer helps to push out and loosen the coat.

We then brush, brush and brush, using a combination of different grooming tools until all loose hair and undercoat is removed.

Blow Dry

We use a combination of three different dryers. A warm high velocity dryer to blast off the water fast so your dog will not have to stay wet for long.

A low pressure heated dryer for smaller dogs or dogs that are sensitive to the sound or pressure of the the high velocity dryer.

We then use a quiet heated finishing dryer for the face and while we begin brushing to be sure your dog is warm and completely dry.

Some dogs do not like the sound or force of the dryer, in this case we sit the dog on our lap,  we use the quiet heated finishing dryer on the lowest setting and give lots of cuddles and reassurance. They will get used to the process slowly.

Hydro-Bath & Hand Shampoo

We bath in a high quality hydrobath using clean warm water.

The spray head produces a unique hydro action that massages and stimulates the skin, so not only is it the most effective way of washing your dog but also provides a therapeutic water massage. This helps with blood circulation, and relieves tired muscles.

Water penetrates the coat getting right to the skin helping to remove dry dead skin cells, embedded flea eggs and other materials that can be hidden and hard to get rid of, especially for dogs with longer and thicker coats.

We then hand scrub using a range of high quality PH balanced shampoos and conditioners (including Petway and Progroom) suited to your pets coat and skin needs.

Then a second wash with the hydrobath followed by thorough rinse with warm water.

The process is repeated if needed to get a perfectly clean finnish.

Ear plucking & Cleaning

Plucking a dog’s ear is when we gently pull or tweeze the hair from the inside of a dog’s ear. Removing the hair will keep it from blocking the canal, allowing more air to circulate, which helps prevent ear infections and moisture build-up. We only do this if it is needed. If your dog shows any signs of being in pain with this, we will advise you to see a veterinarian to discuss options.

We use Epi-Otic ear cleaner. Epi-Otic removes earwax, and debris from the ear canal and has a drying agent to remove excess moisture. It Helps leave the ears in optimum condition.

We clean ears as a preventative measure. If your dog has an ear infection we will advise you to see your veterinarian for suitable treatment.

Nail Clipping

We check and clip your dogs nails with every grooming visit, this is included in the price of all grooming services.

Nail filing and/or grinding is optional and has an additional cost of $6.

Nail filing and/or grinding can get a much smoother, rounder, blunt finish to the nail. This helps to prevent scratches on you caused by jumping pooches, or scractches on your floor/furniture. It is also a great option for dogs who have a fear of nail clipping.

Some dogs have naturally long nails and cannot be clipped too short without making them bleed. We will advise you if this is the case.

We also take bookings for nail clipping only. Come in and get your dogs nails clipped while you wait.

Nail clipping as a stand alone service is $10 per dog.

Nail filing and/or grinding as a stand alone service is $25 per dog.
